He will probably want to sleep in his car for a few weeks until the excitement wears off. The car will probably be clean from the inside out at all times because he’ll wash and vacuum it out every day. But one thing Israel will surely have in his car at least three times a week is his violin. Seth’s musical gift, using that gift in ministry and his love for the Lord, are special qualities that separate him from his peers. Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday Israel opens his vio- lin case and prepares his instru- Local musician Seth Israel recently won first place in his age group at Youth Quest for his musical talent. ment for service. He is a part of the praise band at his church and he enjoys the challenges of learning new music and serving the Lord in that way. He has been playing for about six years but recognized several years ago the true gift of music that he had been blessed with. He described a very precious time around the death bed of his grandmother when everyone was singing “Amazing Grace.” He didn’t know how to play the song but he asked if he could attempt to play it. He picked the notes out and was able to play the song as if he’d known it all along. Within minutes after playing it his grandmother passed away. He attributes his desire to continue to play the violin as a way of honoring his grandmother and great- grandmother. Israel’s talents have been recognized on the national level when he won first place in his age group in the talent portion of Youth Quest. Youth Quest is a com- petition for youth within the International Pentecostal Holiness Church. So it seemed natural that he would continue to serve the Lord with his gift when asked to participate in a newly-formed praise band at his church. He’s undecided about his future plans but would like to eventually be a part of a traveling praise band. Seth will definitely have the support from a very loving family which includes his parents, Amy & David Grice and James & Rena Israel.              3006 Bragg Blvd. Fayetteville, NC 910.323.1791 20 UCW MAY 19-25, 2010 ALL TEAM SPORTS          Mention this ad and receive 20% OFF* your next team purchase. *Restrictions apply. “TWO are better than ONE”  5613 Rockfish Road Hope Mills, NC 910.609.1791 Israel is currently in the 10th grade at Jack Britt High School where he excels in math and science.
