We sure have been blessed with breathtaking sunrises and sunsets recently. Wow! I love all the sharing of photos in Facebook groups. The one thing I've learned is the colors do not wait for me to get outside to enjoy the display. Nature happens with or without my noticing. I can choose to take time to enjoy the sunrises and sunsets, marvel- ing at the beauty in the moment, or I could choose to hide inside. Either way, it's still my choice. I've also learned that I can eliminate "regret" by taking action; "adjusting my sails to always reach my destination." With the infl ux of visitors to our lovely little town, some folks can get cranky waiting in line a little bit lon- ger, while others start converstations with strangers in line; some creating lifelong friendships. Remember we can't always change the direction of the wind or the length of the line at the Post Offi ce, but we can adjust our "sails" to have a different attitude about situations which arise. It's all a choice...OURS! As folks gear up for the busy Janu- ary rush, be sure to take some time to enjoy the beauty surrounding us. Did I just say that? Oops...Maybe I should take head, also. A bit chal- lenging, as it's always a bit crazy this time of year, with late nights glued to my computer to get my readers the info you all crave. I hope you all enjoy this edition. There is more news than there is time for me to report on, so be sure to check for updats on Face- book.com/DesertMessengerNews. My wish for you this holiday season is that you would receive Peace, Love and Joy for the whole year...Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Take time to be grateful for the bless- ings in your life. And to my Earth based spirituality friends, a special Happy Winter Solstice! I am grateful for that which I have. I am not sorrowful for that which I do not. I have more than others, less than some, but regardless, I am blessed with what is mine. I can't change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination. ~Jimmy Dean
