A L U M N I U P D A T E Illinois Alpha 2018 Tax Return 990 Now Available for Inspection T he Illinois Alpha AVC tax return for the year ending July 31, 2018, has just been uploaded to the Illinois Alpha Alumni Yahoo site. You can find the tax return at: https:// groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/sigep-illinois-alpha-alumni/ files/Tax%20Return%20990%20for%202018.pdf One thing you may notice is that the AVC's rental revenue just about doubled from the prior year. is is because of a change the AVC and the undergraduate chapter leadership made in ex- pense responsibility and rent receipt allocation. In prior years, the AVC would pay for expenses such as real estate taxes, in- surance, repairs, capital improvements, and university-related charges. e undergraduate chapter would pay for meal ser- vice, cable TV, internet, cleaning supplies and services, and utilities. Each party would have a portion of the rent receipts allocated to pay for these charges. Going forward, the AVC has resumed responsibility for pay- ing all of the charges previously paid for by the undergraduate chapter. In order to fund the payment of those expenses, the AVC assumed the portion of the rent allocated to the under- graduate chapter to pay those expenses. e undergraduate chapter pays for social and recruiting activ- ities from the membership dues. Fraternally, Ken Naatz '74 Treasurer, Illinois Alpha AVC
