101 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE AT IU
A
periodic pause to reflect on history and envision the future is important
for any organization. For Alpha-Omicron, our history now spans
over a century—a century filled with accomplishments, traditions, and
distinguished alumni.
Many of our alumni have gone on to successful careers in business, education,
engineering, law, medicine, military, government, and other endeavors. For all
of us, our lives have been connected because of our membership in Lambda
Chi Alpha. This common bond has propelled our lives forward, in some cases
to unimaginable success. What we learned outside the classroom—that is,
through our fraternity experience—is incalculable. While we were in school,
most of us were unaware how valuable the experiences in the chapter would
be in influencing and shaping our principles, values, and lives. The ongoing
development we received through our fraternity, including leadership skills,
organizational skills, social skills, teamwork, and character, has been integral
to our personal success.
While there may be some difference in today's chapter compared to
the one you knew, there has been an unbroken chain of LCA at Indiana
University for over 100 years now. All Alpha-Omicron alumni can be
proud of the legacy we have helped create and the historical quality of
the chapter that carries on to date. With our solid past, we must now be
"Securing Our Foundation for the Second Century of Alpha-Omicron."
It is imperative that we all bond together to overcome the challenges of
a rapidly changing society. We must continue to support our fraternity to
ensure its lasting impact on future members of our Zeta.
