22 BEST OF THE BEST FRIDAY, OCTOBER 4, 2013 • NWA MEDIA PROMOTIONAL SUPPLEMENT ercy NWA calls compassionate patient care its everyday pursuit, which it sees as resonating in the community, as the Rogers medical center again is a final - ist in this year's Best of the Best readers poll. "Walking beside our patients through their life jour- neys is a privilege, and to be recognized by them for that is both humbling and rewarding," said Dr. Steve Goss, Mercy clinic president. "Our doctors, nurses and co-workers are some of the most dedicated you will find. This recognition is for them, and the work they take so personally." Goss cites Mercy's cardiovascular group and its women and children's service as areas where Mercy has connected with the community. Popular with expectant moms, Mercy continues adding resources with the recent opening of the Ronald McDonald Family Room. It plans to add a neonatologist — a pediatrician specializing in new - born babies, especially those born sick or prematurely — in summer 2014. Mercy continues to grow and has added more than 200 jobs during the past year. It plans to add three medical clinics in Bella Vista, downtown Rogers and Centerton. "Regardless of what we are working on, we want to give it everything we have," said Eric Pianalto, Mercy NWA interim president. For the fourth year, Mercy was awarded the Green Star Energy Award by the Environmental Protection Agen - cy. The American Hospital Association recognized the Mercy system as a "Most Wired" health-care organization for being among only 7 percent of hospitals nationwide with integrated electronic health records. "We are proud of all the work of our Mercy team. To build a health-care system where people choose to en - trust their loved ones in your care takes daily focus," Pian- alto said. "For Mercy, this is our ministry."
