The family-owned drug store has been around since 1917, starting as Red Cross Drug Store on the Fayetteville Square, and was opened by M.M. Collier to provide a pharmacy for Fayetteville. Collier offered many modern conveniences like free delivery and charge accounts, and that tradition contin- ues today. In 1930, Morris Collier joined his father in the family business after completing pharmacy school. The family opened their second location, Collier Rexall Drug Store, in 1950 on Dickson Street. A short time later, the store on the Fayetteville Square burned, and they simply moved everything to the Dickson Street location. Many years later, Morris Collier's sons, Carl and Mor- ris Jr., joined the family business and continued provid- ing service in and around Fayetteville. In 2007, Carl's son, Mel, took over ownership and continued to expand, opening additional locations. These include Prairie Grove, Farmington, Willow Creek, Com- pounding, North Hills, Elkins, Bentonville and Har-Ber/ Tontitown. Collier Drug Stores' compounding lab in the Willow Creek location provides medication not readily available on the market and compounded to meet a customer's specifi c needs. Collier Drug Stores continues to provide hometown service, being one of the few places left to provide free delivery and charge accounts, just like many years ago. Collier Drug Stores is online on Facebook, Instagram and its website at collierdrug.com. Prescriptions can be refi lled online or by phone and mobile app. Collier Drug Stores provide hometown service SPECIAL TO NWA DEMOCRAT-GAZETTE
