UPDATE FROM THE
RECRUITMENT CHAIRMAN
R
ecruitment 2018 was a huge success
when more than 100 amazing women
ran to our lawn on Bid Day. It has been so
much fun to get to know all of them these past
two months.
Although spirit week and recruitment week can
be exhausting, our members had the best time
and a great attitude. Without the help of my two
great assistants, Brook Ostrander '16 (Gulf
Breeze, Fla.) and Ellen Coleman Edwards '16
(Mountain Brook, Ala.), I could not have made it
through those two weeks. They worked closely
with me all year to ensure that our recruitment
was the best! We also had the guidance of my
CAB advisor, Melinda Goode, Delta Delta
'73. Mel graciously donated her time and effort
all year to keep us all on the right track. Brook,
EC, and I loved getting to work with her and
spend time with her!
My term as vice president of membership is sadly
coming to an end, but in November there will be
a brand new vice president of membership! She
will then elect her two assistants and begin
preparing for 2019 recruitment. Workshops
will start back up again with the freshmen in
the spring.
If you know a senior in high school coming
to Alabama next fall, you can write her a
recommendation. We will start accepting
recommendations for 2019 around April, and
they will be due by July 15. You can either
submit them online through our Kappa Delta
Zeta Chapter website at ua.kappadelta.org/
recommendations-and-legacies, or mail

I had the best year preparing our Chapter
members and beautiful home for the largest
recruitment in the country! ΚΔ managed
to yet again get the best of the best, and I'm
confident we will do it again next year.
