KAPPA ALPHA THETA 3 EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION HAS AWARDED 25 SCHOLARSHIPS TOTALING $18,000 Planned Giving Is Now Available, Offering a Great Tax Shelter T he Alpha Chi Chapter Educational Foundation is growing, thanks to your support for both general donations and endowment funds. Our efforts are truly appreciated by the women in the chapter, as evidenced by words of some of the scholarship recipients following the receipt of $1,000 scholarships in April 2018: • "This is an incredible honor and much needed financial help. Thank you." • "The financial assistance you provided will be of great help to me in paying my educational and living expenses. I cannot thank you enough." • "This scholarship will help me pay for graduate school applications." To date, 25 scholarships totaling $18,000 have been awarded to active sisters excelling in scholarship, leadership, and service to fraternity and community. With your help, we will again award eight $1,000 scholarships in 2019. Thank you for your past support as we formed this foundation in 2012 and for your support in helping it grow. Of special note was the strong support from the active chapter. During Mom's Day in April, the chapter held a silent auction with the Educational Foundation scholarship fund as the recipient of the proceeds. Nearly $4,000 was donated! Your support is needed since the Educational Foundation is dependent on the generosity of Alpha Chi Thetas and their families and friends. Whether you are interested in giving annually through cash donations or including the Educational Foundation in your planned giving, your donations will be greatly appreciated. You will know you are impacting the lives of young women of Kappa Alpha Theta at Purdue University and will truly be part of Theta for a Lifetime. Please contact me with questions at (765) 714-1845 or send donations to P.O. Box 3754, West Lafayette, IN 47996. No donation is too small or too large! And, donations are tax deductible. This book uses color and the color wheel— metaphorically and literally—to show readers how to get out of binary black-and-white thinking that limits their creativity. Each semester a Zoe Coulson Scholar Award is presented by the Educational Foundation to the active member with the most improved GPA. Receiving a certificate and a cash award for spring 2018 was Sarah Watzlavik '17 (left), presented by Blake Stephenson '16 (right), chapter education director.
