When Beta Chi began searching for an architect to redesign a chapter house to accommodate more than 300, Tom's blend of experience, creative problem-solving, and expertise drew Beta Chi to Wilmes & Associates Architects. A graduate of UK's College of Design, Tom has worked on a variety of projects nationwide, and has established a reputation as a talented, detail-oriented designer. He often exceeds clients' expectations with the finished result and Beta Chi is no exception. With design elements that blend tradition, a refined and contemporary aesthetic, and high-end amenities and industrial components, Tom and his design team have perfectly balanced Beta Chi's needs and personality. "We wanted to focus on creating a home for collegiate members while also giving them a secure and peaceful environment to live, study, foster bonds of friendship, and create lasting memories of their time at UK," Tom said. The strong sense of community Beta Chi fosters was also apparent to Tom over the course of project. "I am impressed with the vision and leadership from those at ΚΚΓ who spearheaded the project," Tom said. "The assembled team of design partners and alumnae worked together to ensure this was a successful venture." Now that a new semester has started and a new generation of members have moved in, it's clear that Beta Chi is poised to enjoy a future filled with sisterhood and growth. "The greatest reward of my career is when I run into clients, often years after a project is completed, and they tell me how much they still enjoy and appreciate the spaces we've created," Tom said. "With this project especially, it was hard not to be caught up in the enthusiasm, which makes all the hard work both fun and enjoyable. My sincere thanks to ΚΚΓ for allowing me to be a part of the team." View more of Tom's work at www.wilmesarchitects.com. Carole also worked with Pi Beta Phi, Alpha Delta Pi, and Alpha Phi chapters. Carole's next connection with sororities was made possible by Matt Spearing when he contacted her to interview for the at 238 E. Maxwell house build.
