Williams '58 Robert A. Zamorano '73 O n July 5, Terry Nathan '69, age 71, passed away aer fighting cancer with grace, dignity, and courage for the past few years. Terry, a member of the Texas Alpha Hall of Fame, served our frater- nity for more than 50 consecutive years. He took seriously our oath of obligations that brotherhood is for life not just while attending UT. He served us during some tough times, too, especially when we voluntarily surrendered our charter to our alumni aer a series of incidents involving hazing and other safety violations. From my perspective, Terry Nathan, along with John Tyler '63 and the undergraduate president during those challenging few years, Elton Wells '95, laid the foundation and vision that has led to Texas Alpha becoming the premier fraternity at UT and the national level that is today. To properly recognize Terry, for his dedication to Texas Alpha, we reached out to many alumni for their personal tributes to Terry including both the serious and the humorous. Further, many alumni posted tributes on our LinkedIn group page. We hail thee bother Terry for your service to our Dear Old Fraternity. Fraternally, Mark Kiester '71 Terry and I had a wonderful relationship for all of the years he was working at St. David's and serving as their IT department/treasurer and all-around business guy. Since we are across the street at the Omni, I would drop in sometimes and just go visit. We frequented the ursday businessman's lunch and would oen sit together aer we finished the meal. He was always happy to see a SigEp and nev- er was the one to rush off due to meetings or the "crush of business." anks to Terry, we were able to wrangle a few parking places at the St. David's garage when the Omni told our firm they were full up and we had to look elsewhere for parking. Terry would just make it hap- pen. Terry just sort of quietly made things happen and never once claimed credit or that I "owed him a favor." I always smiled when Gary Griffith used Terry's college nickname of "Lung." He had a close relationship with him, which was typical of Terry's circle of friends. Many years ago, Terry convinced me and my wife to go to Kingsland and stay at the B&B of Brother Terry Nathan and he is sorely missed. – Jeff Otto '77 Terry was a unique and wonderful guy. He was one of my pledge brothers in 1965, a college roommate, a groomsman in my wedding in 1970, a business partner in the late 1970s, and a special friend from 1965 until now. He saw the humor in life's events that
