For the spring 2018 semester, we posted a chapter cumulative GPA of 3.16, which is well above the all-fraternity average at RPI. Additionally, two of our brothers secured co-ops for this fall, gaining valuable work experience at SpaceX and Grumman Innovation Systems. Many of our brothers obtained internships during the summer at dynamic companies all across the country. During their internships they invested the skills and lessons they have learned from eta Xi to the professional world and have returned with new skills and experience that have already helped the chapter. is is the most evident during the career fair at RPI, when Alpha Chapter becomes a working example of a professional writing center for resumes and cover letters. e level of success is seen every summer when so many active members obtain high-quality internships, and this is a recurring positive influence on the house atmosphere. Over the summer, Zachary Sitte '19 (A1725) and James Naylor '19 (A1724) attended the eta Xi national convention. Alpha Chapter was awarded with three certificates during the convention, including second place for outstanding newsletter. While there, Sitte and Naylor along with David Fowkes '89 (A1275) and Chris "Norm" Baldauf '03 (A1487) met Ian Pellerin (KT794), director of Fraternity Growth for eta Xi Fraternity, and set up a day for him to present his recruitment tactics and methodology to our chapter. We hope this helps support the upcoming recruitment and create a lasting arsenal of tools. We are extremely excited for this opportunity to host Ian and see how we can improve from this opportunity.
