Was there a falling-out, and are there any plans to replace her? — Ben Begley, Greenwood, Ind. A : It was quite the opposite of a falling-out, since ac- tress Annabelle Attanasio had a feature-directing opportunity that would have conflicted with her schedule in the CBS drama. The series' makers — who happen to include her fa- ther, "Quiz Show" screenwriter and "Bull" co-creator Paul Attanasio — agreed to let her out of the show so she could make her movie. It then became a question of addressing her character Cable's absence with realism, and executive producer Glenn Gordon Caron has explained that it was taken as an oppor- tunity to impact Bull (Michael Weatherly) and the other char- acters by making Cable one of the fatalities in a bridge col- lapse. It also has introduced a new figure in Cable's mother, played by television veteran Jill Hennessy ("Crossing Jor- dan," "Law & Order"), with her presence planned to play out for a while. And as for a replacement for Cable, Bull's legal team needed a new tech expert, so Mackenzie Meehan was add- ed to the regular cast recently in the role of Taylor Rentzel, a cyber-savvy acquaintance of Marissa (Geneva Carr). Q : I never really watched "Alias," so who did Bradley Cooper play on that show? And did he do much other TV work? — Leslie Scott, via e-mail A : Cooper played Will Tip- pin, a friend and reporter who looked into the death of the fiance of Sydney Bristow (Jennifer Garner) in the ABC espionage saga. Cooper was a regular on the show during its first two seasons, then re- ceived "Special Guest" billing when he occasionally returned later in the series' run, having left to focus on his then-bur- geoning movie career. However, after appearing previously on "Sex and the City" and the financial drama "The $treet," Cooper did land a post-"Alias" show of his own. In "Kitchen Confidential," he played a variation on Anthony Bourdain (who wrote the book on which the show was based) ... and it was somewhat ironic that Cooper would return to the culinary world about a decade later in the feature film "Burnt." On the home screen, Coo- per also has appeared in the series "Touching Evil," "Jack & Bobby," "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," "Law & Order: Trial by Jury" and "Nip/Tuck." He reprised his movie role in the streaming series "Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp," and he made recur- ring appearances in the show based on his film "Limitless."
