Page 3 Beta Sigma Psi Beta Sigma PSi'S gradeS Continue to Soar Multiple Brothers Achieve Honors T he members of Beta Sigma Psi are ready to tackle another semester here at Purdue. A couple of our members are graduating in December: Austin Franz '15 and Nik Kiess '15. Due to the significant number of members who graduated last spring, we're placing a high priority on recruitment. We are happy to have seven new members (six of whom are living in the house as freshmen), and five guys who said they will go through spring recruitment. We are doing everything we can to spread the word about the community we have here at Purdue, so we hope to see those efforts come to fruition over the next several years to bring up our active membership. Academic Update The Chapter continues with its trend of above-average performance for all IFC fraternities on campus. Our spring semester grades showed an improvement over last fall by 0.05: our term GPA was 3.10, with cumulative remaining around 3.15. This trend should continue as our members take steps to improve their grades. Thirteen of our members made Semester Honors, and eight made the Dean's List! Campus Involvement Intramural sports remain a prominent focus for us, and we look forward to another semester of competing. Several of our members remain heavily involved with University Lutheran Church. We are also trying to become more involved with Pastor Mike Vinson and Our Savior Lutheran Church. You are always welcome to come join us on any Sunday for church, especially if you have yet to see the new sanctuary! Emphasis on Philanthropy This year, we are trying something drastically different for our philanthropy. We put together a 5K race that went right through campus on September 29. We aimed for 100 people to be involved with the race, which would raise a significant amount of money for our national philanthropy, Habitat for Humanity. We hope to make this a yearly event, so keep your eyes open for more updates down the road! I would like to thank you all for supporting us. Without the support of alumni like all of you, we would not be able to carry on with this Lutheran community here at Purdue University. We welcome any and all visitors, so please don't hesitate to let us know if you would like to attend events, meetings, church services, football or basketball games, or even just stop by the house for a trip down memory lane.
