"Married to the Mob" (1988) Even if his role isn't particularly lengthy, Baldwin shows his sense of fun as a mobster whose wife (Michelle Pfeiffer) isn't too happy with their lifestyle. "Working Girl" (1988) Baldwin is terrific in director Mike Nichols' comedy as a cheating boyfriend who gives an ambitious secretary (Melanie Griffith) sufficient reason to bolt. "Talk Radio" (1988) The film really belongs to Eric Bogosian, also its co-writer, but Baldwin lends needed gravitas as a radio executive who's of two minds about the on-air candor and abrasiveness of one of his stars (Bogosian). "The Hunt for Red October" (1990) Several other actors have played Jack Ryan since, but Baldwin was the first to embody novelist Tom Clancy's CIA-analyst character, who tries here to determine whether a Soviet submarine commander (Sean Connery) wants to defect. "The Juror" (1996) Again playing it sinister, Baldwin is chilling as a mystery man who targets a member of a jury (Demi Moore), intending to get her to sway the others to vote "not guilty" in a trial. "Ghosts of Mississippi" (1996) Baldwin does excellent work as a prosecutor in director Rob Reiner's dramatization of this true story about the literal trials of civil rights leader Medgar Evers' killer.
