Think Back. Think Big. Think Beta. 7 CHAPTER ETERNAL Bill Ahrberg '50 passed on to Chapter Eternal in June 2018. Bill was an agricul- ture major at Oklahoma State. He served in the Korean War and was awarded two Purple Hearts and two Silver Stars. After serving 32 years in the Army Reserve, Bill retired as a colonel. He was inducted into the Oklahoma Military Hall of Fame in 2014 and was recognized by Oklaho- ma State University as a distinguished alumnus. In 1960, Bill and his brother started Ahrberg Milling Company in Cushing, Okla., where they manufactured livestock feed and ran a successful mill- ing business. John Landes Jr. '55 passed on to Chap- ter Eternal on February 1, 2018. He grad- uated from OSU with a B.S. in business. John served in the United States Army, followed by the Army Reserves. He was a proud member of Beta Theta Pi. Dan Strong '56 passed on to Chapter Eternal in March 2018. Dan received a B.S. in petroleum geology from Okla- homa State University and a master's degree from Oklahoma University. Dan served as a second lieutenant in the Army Intelligence Corp. in Washington, D.C. Dan worked in the oil and gas industry with numerous leadership positions in ge- ology during his working career. Victor "Webs" Weber Jr. '58 passed on to Chapter Eternal in March 2018. Webs was born in Stillwater. He received his master's degree from Oklahoma State University and completed further stud- ies at the University of Pittsburgh prior to embarking on a distinguished career in public school teaching. He had a talent for coaching young people in almost ev- ery sport all through the academic year, yet his true passion was found coaching The Beta Four at the 179th General Convention Tuck Headley '14, Tucker Feix '18, Brock Johnson '09, and Bray McDonnell, George Washington University. ALUMNI UPDATE John McKnight '54 lives in Searcy, Ark. John was chapter president during the 1953-54 academic year. He says, "If it wasn't for Beta, I don't know what kind of college life I would have had. I was more than 500 miles from my home and knew no one at Oklahoma A&M. I really enjoyed the time with my brothers and often they took me home with them on weekends. My time in the Beta house truly gave me a wonderful college experience." Phil Jennings '63 is in the process of selling HyTech Power Inc. and has sold film rights to his first two books, Train Wreck in a Small Town and Goodbye Mexico. Phil says his company, Cameron Creative Partners, has signed a deal to create a new online magazine for National Lampoon. His third book in his Nam-a-Rama series will be released in 2019. He and his wife of 47 years have lived in Stillwater for 42 years and enjoy their two children, three grandchildren, and the variety of OSU opportunities. Besides his orthodontist practice, he was fortunate to lecture and teach in several U.S. states, France, and Italy. He now has more time for his long-time passion: golf. "Life is great!" Kevin Stitt '95 is running for Oklahoma governor with a vision to be top 10 in growth, education, infrastructure, health care, and government efficiency. He is an Oklahoman entrepreneur and busi- nessman who founded Gateway Mortgage in 2000 with $1,000 and a computer. Kevin worked his way through Oklahoma State by selling books. He is a man driven by faith and family.
