Zeta Psi Chapter 2 K nowing he wanted to be a part of something greater than himself, Chuck Hellman '83 attended several different recruitment parties as a freshman at the University of Cincinnati. At Sigma Chi, Chuck felt the members were a lot like him. "It just felt right," he shared. "ey were a very caring group of individuals, and that went a long way with me." Since his days living in the chapter house and sporting the SC logo, Chuck has made a name for himself in the men's fashion industry. Always one to present himself dressed to the nines, he began his career at Macy's in Man- hattan aer graduating with his bachelor's in management. Chuck built his industry foundation on the ideal "business before fashion," and that has proven to be an asset as he's climbed the ladders of the multi-faceted fash- ion world. With over 20 years spent working for various companies in wholesale, Chuck eventually became CEO of Robert Graham, a $50 million company. In 2012, aer working closely with the Cincinnati-based company Blane's Fine Men's Apparel for many years, he became a partner. Chuck bought out his partners in 2014, making him the sole owner of Blane's. He now owns and operates two retail stores in Cincinnati, having moved back home aer opening his second store, Hellman Clothiers, in 2017. For Chuck, Sigma Chi is where all of his greatest friendships began, with men he still keeps in touch with today. His Zeta Psi brothers showed him the ropes during school, got him involved in business, and are now some of his closest friends. is includes Mark Quinn '83, who he talks to daily, and Dennis Oltorik '86, who along with his wife, Shelley, warmly welcomed him back to Cincinnati. Doug Flaute '83 and Chuck became real estate From Zeta Psi to NYC Fashion Mogul How SC Helped Chuck Hellman '83 Find His Niche business partners 17 years ago and Matt Chabot '82 helped supply the ma- terials for his second retail store. Chip Howard '83 was the first person to introduce Chuck to the possibilities of living downtown and Doug Hayes '83 is supplying the materials for his new house. Brothers are always around the corner to lend a hand (and save him a buck!) Despite his successful career, Chuck's greatest accomplishment is his fam- ily—his wife, Susan, of 33 years and their two grown children, Stephanie (29) and Dan (25). Chuck has achieved several important positions in busi- ness, became an entrepreneur, and is helping change the face of men's fash- ion in Cincinnati. He remains proud of his fraternity family, and attends Cincy Sig functions as much as he can. "It shows the younger guys that Sigma Chi is forever," he explained. "It's truly an honor being part of a group of guys who've always been destined for greatness."
