In Memoriam Joan Squires Campbell '51 passed away on August 2 in Emporia, Kan. Joan grew up in Lawrence, attended Lawrence High School, and majored in physical education at KU. While at KU she was a member of the Honor Mortar Board Society her senior year. Alumnae News Marilyn Mason Bobbitt '75 has three grand- children and lives in Independence, Mo. "It was for a group of girls celebrating a big birthday!" "We had a great time and even went zip lining one day. Never a dull moment!" SIGMA NEWS 2 S igma Chapter was represented by collegians Blake Gustafson '16, Jordan Heath '16, Rylie Hess '17 and advisor Sally Ramseyer Beck '74 at the 78th Gamma Phi Beta Convention in Dallas, Texas, in June. They enhanced their leadership skills, attended educational programming, conducted sorority business, and met hundreds of collegians and alumnae while celebrating sisterhood and having fun. One of the highlights of the week was the 2018 Awards Banquet, where Sigma was honored with the Scholarship Excellence Award and the Collegiate/ Alumnae Relations Excellence Award. The Sigma members also cheered loudly for Sigma alumna Christie Kroeger '87, a member of the Tampa Bay alumnae group, who received the Shining Star Award to recognize her commitment to community involvement in addition to her contributions to Gamma Phi Beta.
