A312 Lawrence, KS 66047-2145 Address Service Requested H H H H Star sigma Marylou Sayler Turner '56 is president of the Symphony League, which is responsible for throwing the Symphony Ball each year. She is also president of the Youth Symphony of Kansas City, which has more than 400 young people playing in the orchestra. Marylou is also on the finance committee of the Sigma Kappa Foundation. E-mail: joanlhoward@q.com Susan Peterson '65 and her husband, James, built a new home in a rural golf community after living in the same house for 40 years. She retired from practicing law and now travels the world. One of the most exciting things Susan and James have done was spend 32 days on a ship from Alaska to New York City through the Northwest Passage behind an ice breaker/research ship last fall. She and her husband, Perry, live in Great Bend, Kan. She and Alan enjoy being back in Kansas after 25 years in Houston. They moved back two years ago. Her husband, Richard, is in a nursing home and she visits him frequently to take care of him. She loves assisting with daycare for her two grandchildren, and is expecting another in December. E-mail: boostermom@hotmail.com Kathryn Cook Lawrence '68 enjoys providing support for people investigating or following plant-based (vegan) diets for their health, the planet, and to reduce animal suffering. She is the organizer of Denver Vegans meetup. She also coordinates three book clubs, volunteers at the public library, and loves to bake and play banjo. Kate and her husband, Keith, live in Denver. Marty stays busy with her HOA board work, writing the HOA newsletter, leads Bible study, and teaches a water exercise class. Since her daughter remarried in March, Marty has three new grandchildren to enjoy, making a total of six. She is also volunteering with a project to help immigrants with guardianship documents for their children in the event they are deported. Additionally, Cheryl teaches Sunday School to K-2nd grade children, which she loves now that her own kids are grown.
