Mother *Legacy Welcome, 2018 New Members New members on Bid Day at Stankowski Field. T he chapter enjoyed another successful primary recruitment in August, resulting in 58 new members from eight states— representing 48 different high schools. About 100 fewer potential new members registered for recruitment this year versus 2017, although the size of Mizzou's 2018 freshman class is larger than last year. All 15 chapters at Mizzou achieved quota and the percentage of women who joined sororities in 2018 is the same as 2017. The new member class, which includes two sophomores, has an average high school GPA of 3.6 and ACT score of 25. Thirty-eight of the new members are from Missouri. There are four legacies and two of the new members have cousins who were in the chapter. The new members boast a range of leadership, service and scholarly achievements and are working toward a variety of majors. Seventeen intend to focus on health-related majors, 10 intend to major in journalism, nine in business and seven are undeclared. "Your future reads Alpha Chi" was the Bid Day theme with members wearing boho-chic accessories and providing pink boas for the new members. Alpha Nu continues to post strong return numbers during recruitment and choose its new members from the most qualified of the women going through recruitment.
