THE EDGECLIFF NEWS PAGE 3 I am happy to be writing to all of you as the fall 2018 semester has just started! It is so great to be back on campus with everyone, seeing the older brothers who traveled abroad and reuniting with our friends after a long summer of internships and vacations. We had several of our senior leaders spend the spring semester overseas in Florence, Australia, Prague, and Milan. It has been great catching up with them and hearing all about their travels and studies! Honoring Avi Through Charity 5K As is the case every semester, we plan on continuing to engage with our Green Light Go initiative after such a strong turnout from the past two semesters. Unfortunately, we lost one of our brothers, Avram Pinals '18, who tragically passed away at the end of the spring semester. The brotherhood is deeply saddened and has planned several events to honor his legacy, including a charity 5K race that all of the brothers will participate in. Chapter House Renovations Underway The chapter house underwent several renovations this summer, and construction is still occurring and will conclude by fall break. The entire kitchen was redone and is now ready for our new chefs from UpperCrust. The first floor will be repainted and retiled with brand- new wooden flooring, and the living room is receiving new carpeting and paint as well. The brothers are all very excited for the changes and cannot wait for everything to be finished! Chartering Ceremony to Take Place We are very excited to announce that we will be having our chartering ceremony this fall on September 30 at 12 p.m. at the chapter house. Please feel free to reach out to our Programming Director and Vice President Larry Zmoira '20 at lz255@cornell.edu with any questions. Stop by the Chapter House As always, thank you to all of the alumni for your continued support; we would love for you to visit the chapter house (especially with the new interior renovations!) and meet some of the brothers! I wish you all the best, and hope you and your families enjoy a fantastic fall season.
