However, that all changed the moment she arrived at 555 West Jefferson St. "When I walked into Kappa Delta, everyone was so warm and friendly. I felt at home," Jill said. "Kappa Alpha presented me with the opportunity to meet so many wonderful ladies who positively influenced my life, and still do today. I wanted to be involved and be a leader in my community and the women of Kappa Alpha gave me the confidence to accomplish just that!" Jill's bond with Kappa Delta grew even more when her daughter joined the Sigma Lambda Chapter at Auburn University. She was able to attend her initiation and pin her, a memory she will never forget. Since Kappa Alpha means so much to Jill she decided to support the capital campaign. "Kappa Delta was a turning point for me in college. I had a place to call home and made the most wonderful friends. My life has been enriched beyond belief by my affiliation to Kappa Delta. I want other women to have the same opportunity that I had. Kappa Alpha has given me so much and now I want to give back. This campaign allows us to grow as a chapter and positively affect the lives of many young women." Jill knows that donating to Kappa Alpha will preserve the place she loves while ensuring a bright future. To this day Jill keeps in touch with her roommate, Katherine Miller Haggard '80. "We raised our families together, vacation together, and our husbands are just as close as we are." Jill resides outside of Tallahassee in Thomasville, Ga., with her husband, Wilson, who is a banker. She started off as a CPA but currently owns a wholesale jewelry, wearables and handbag line called Caroline Hill with her daughter, Evan Carraway Wortman, Auburn '06, who she adores working with.
