Foyer Informal Living Room Kitchen Kappa Alpha Chapter of Kappa Delta at Florida State University • Fall 2018 Always Think of KD K a p pa D e l t a F l o r i d a S t a t e U n i v e r s i t y Kappa Alpha Alumnae Support Stronger Than Ever Nearing Our $1M Goal YOUR GIFTS MADE A DIFFERENCE The Kappa Alpha Chapter House was full of activity this summer. Here are the renovation projects we completed. • New interior design for front three rooms, including marble foyer, wood floors, paint, carpet, and reupholstered furniture. We still need to purchase new tables and lamps. • In the new foyer the old marble tile was removed and beautiful new black and white marble was installed. • The old red room is now the formal living room with an entrance to a beautiful new house director's suite. • Our 1955 kitchen was expanded to the west and doubled in size and we purchased all new, modernized equipment. We went from a kitchen that was built to serve 60 meals a day to a kitchen that can now serve 600! And yes, we serve that many every day! • New bedrooms on the top floor added eight more beds, allowing for a total of 57 girls who can live in the house now. • The blue room is a new informal living room. The TV is mounted on the wall located behind a commissioned oil painting of white roses. We are so excited to have these renovations complete, and the collegians share in our excitement! They loved having these updates done in time for fall recruitment. While these first few projects are complete, our to-do list is not fully checked off yet as we still must re- cement the back parking lot. DONATIONS STILL NEEDED As you know, money is the driving force behind all house projects. With almost $700,000 raised toward our $1 million goal, we must continue pushing to raise the full amount. Our ability to complete our project list depends on it. While the physical chapter house is not the most important part of our sisterhood, it is the embodiment of our sisterhood. It is home base to our collegiate sisters, was your home base during college, and is home to all Kappa Alpha ΚΔs when you visit. Your gifts are more than an investment in our physical structure; they are an investment in the young women of Kappa Alpha. Just as we must keep up our own homes, so must we keep up our Kappa Delta home. We hope to add your name to our list of donors. Please use the enclosed pledge form to make your multiyear pledge. You can also visit our secure online giving form at tinyurl.com/ KDFSUDonate to set up recurring payments. You can make your payments according to a schedule that fits your lifestyle and budget.
