This class is very diverse in the sense that 35% of the members are from central/western Kansas, 32% are from KC, 19% are from out of state, and 13% are from Wichita. It is also worth noting are that 74% played high school athletics and the average GPA was 3.67. We know these new members are well-rounded individuals that will live out our True Gentleman lifestyle. Our quick signings show how pas- sionate and persistent the leaders in our chapter are. We are excited for a large class and we hope to learn from them as much as they learn from us. Although it truly is great to be an SAE at K-State in 2018, we know we can always improve. Our mission is to capitalize on areas we are excel- ling but also to improve on our weaker areas. Bringing in a larger fresh- man class provides new opportunities for growth and development of our compelling brotherhood. We are appreciative of all our alumni's support and hope you are as proud of our accomplishments as we are. The men's hard work paid in full, and we will continue to produce success for many years to come. In the Bonds, Ryan Montgomery '20 rymontgomery@ksu.edu Fraternity of the Year (Continued from page 1) Kansas Beta was a finalist for the Zeal Award. At the Greek Excellence Awards, Kansas Beta received Chapter of the Year, the Dean's Award for the third straight year, and New Member of the Year, Ryan Schippers '20. Chapter Leadership I am pleased to report that the actives continue to provide strong lead- ership and the chapter continues aggressively on the upswing. For the fall 2018 semester, the chapter house is once again full with 61 men living in. The house has never looked better and the chapter budget is in solid shape. Please read the chapter update by Ryan Montgomery '20. The active chapter is delivering great results and making Kansas Beta the chapter to emulate both at Kansas State and nationally. Recruitment is a year-round activity and the critical lifeblood of the chapter. If you are aware of any potential new members, please contact me or Recruitment Chairmen Chase Stalder '19 at stalder00@ksu.edu or (785) 280-3273 or Ryan Schippers '20 at ryan_schippers3@yahoo. com or (785) 656-1554. Our next major improvement project is the chapter house HVAC sys- tem, which ranges from 30 years old for the air conditioning to over 50 years old for the boiler. The total project cost will be approximately $150,000. We have raised approximately $50,000 to date and fundrais- ing activities continue. Thank you for your continued support. I promise you the money is carefully managed and invested in the future of Kansas Beta. It is a future that is very bright. Yours in the Bonds, Steve Lacy '76, '77 Kansas Beta House Corporation President steve.lacy@meredith.com / (515) 284-3895 Positive Momentum at the Chapter Continues
