WITH ALPHA BETA
T
he Alpha Beta property committee completed a few projects this
summer. We painted the upstairs in a nice warm white as part
of a five-year rotation and repaired window screens and any ropes
in the sashes that weren't working properly. We are also looking
into new lighting fixtures in some of the bedrooms. The historical
commission didn't give us permission to replace the windows with
double-pane, energy-efficient windows, so the property committee
will be working on the windows this fall. We are excited to work
with a new house director starting this fall. In addition, the members
are enjoying the new furniture in the living room and dining room;
the downstairs looks fresh and pretty. The front landscaping looks
great. Property maintenance is in the house regularly for upkeep and
regulatory requirements to support the integrity of the structure
and overall safety. Next on our fix-it list may be a reconfiguration
of the laundry room. Please come by and see the house if you're ever
in Ithaca!
