"It's our fresh food and generous portions," he says. Jay is now managing this iconic restaurant and is excited about the prospect of serving delicious food to the community. He brings an impressive culinary background to the table, including years in the kitchen as a chef. He knows food and is dedicated to fresh, quality ingredients. Hunan Manor has been in Fayetteville for 30 years, and at its present location near the corner of Wedington and Colorado for 15 years. The restaurant is housed in a sleek, modern building with ample parking. The soaring windows let light in, and a large fish tank adds serenity to the clean and pleasant atmosphere. Jay is looking to expand offerings in the future, but for now he's committed to perfecting the dishes that have made Hunan Manor a popular go-to Chinese restaurant here in Northwest Arkansas. "The Crispy Beef and Lemon Chicken are favorites," Jay says. "So is the Chicken Hunan Style. People love them." Hunan Manor diners can choose from an impressive selection of entrées including poultry, pork, beef, seafood and vegetable dishes, plus appetizers, soups, chow mein, lo mein, fried rice and side dishes. For those who can't decide or want a little bit of everything, there's the buffet, featuring a wide selection of mouth- watering favorites for lunch or dinner. The lunch buffet is available from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. every day except Tuesdays, when the restaurant is closed. The cost is $8.72 for adults, $6.95 for children 8-11 and $4.95 for children 3-7 years old. And, for a limited time, kids under seven can enjoy the lunch buffet on Saturday & Sunday for just $1.99. The dinner buffet is available only on Friday and Saturday nights from 5:00-8:30 p.m. It's well-priced at $9.71 for adults, $6.95 for kids 8-11 and $4.95 for kids 3-7 years old. Of course, dishes can be ordered from the menu at any time. Adults can start their meal with a glass of wine or a beer and the Crab Rangoon, an appetizer favorite at Hunan. Or choose steamed or fried dumplings, shrimp toast, egg rolls or Hunan spicy wontons. For an entrée, poultry fans can choose from nearly 20 dishes, from spicy Szechuan or Kung Pao Chicken to classic General Tso's or Moo Goo Gai Pan. Peking Duck is another special treat.
