The suggested donation for seniors 60 and older is $2.75. For those guests under the age of 60, the guest charge is $7. A donation is not a requirement for you to receive a meal if you qualify for the program. Reservations must be made a minimum of one day in advance by calling 527-2414. Two percent milk is served with each meal. Menu is subject to change. Hearing them without seeing them is highly entertaining. With five grandbabies under the age of 3 all in the house recently, snippets of conversation drift from one room to another seconds before laughter erupts, damage occurs or action breaks loose in another part of the house. From the kitchen: Klink, klink, klink "Those are Grandma's fancy dishes. Can you be very careful?" Klink, klink, klink. Pause. Crash. From upstairs: "I went poo!" "Yes you did, but not on the potty chair." From every room there seem to be a lot of don'ts: "Don't put that in your mouth." "Don't lick the window." "Don't pull the dog's tail." "Don't color on the table." "Get out of Grandma's cupboard now and don't put tea lights in the toaster one more time!" One of the most amusing snippets: "Why is John Henry wearing high heels?" Carnival style games will be available for 25 cents per game. Come catch a wave with 4-H. • Antelope 4-H is working on a community service project to college warm socks and gloves for PATH. Reception for 2-1-1 stakeholders set Wednesday The Board of Directors of Tehama Together will hold a reception 4-5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, at 332 Pine St. in Red Bluff for those who have contributed to the establishment of 2-1-1 service in Tehama County and celebrate the fourth anniversary of Tehama Together. Among those recognized will be Annie B's, Business Connections, County of Tehama, Community Action Agency, Dignity Health, First5 Tehama, Tehama County Health Services Agency, Tehama County Social Services, Tehama County Deputy Sheriff's Association and United Way of Northern California. The event is free and open to the public. Adopt a Senior fundraiser The Adopt a Senior program has raised $7,500, about half of the $15,000 goal, as of Jan. 3. To keep the momentum up, the Elk's will host a spaghetti dinner with a silent auction from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Elks Lodge, 355 Gilmore Rd. Tickets are now available at the Red Bluff Community Center, 1500 S. Jackson St.. Cost is $12 adults, $6 child. Dinner includes wine, spaghetti with meat sauce, 90 years ago... County Has $537,211.22 in the Treasury Tehama county now has more than a half a million dollars in the treasury, the monthly report of County Treasurer E. L. Cullen shows. The cash balance on January 1 was $537,211,22. On December 1 is was $247,468.65, or less than half of the amount now on hand. For more information call 347-1281 or 347-3656 Volunteers sought Here are some of the ways people can make a difference daily: • The Guardian Angel Foundation is a non-profit organization that helps families in need through a referral process from different agencies in Tehama County. Volunteers are needed to help with the clean up and organization of donated items. Help is also needed to lift heavy objects and yard work. Information is available at 3849857. • AARP/IRS, under their Tax-Aide Program is seeking local volunteers to assist Tehama and Glenn county residents with state and federal tax preparation. Bilingual volunteers are also needed. They accept and train volunteers between October and December. Volunteers are asked to give a minimum commitment of four hours per week between Feb. 1 and April 15. Expenses are reimbursed on a limited basis. Information from Harley Bennett at 529-1536 and Barbara Vandygriff at 824-2531. • The Tehama County Transit Agency Board is seeking volunteer drivers to help provide transportation to and from non emergency medical appointments. Mileage is reimbursed. Information is available from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Wednesday at 385-2200. • The Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program at Passages Adult Resource Center has ongoing recruitment for volunteers to be advocates on behalf of Medicare beneficiaries. Volunteers help to explain Medicare benefits and serve as advocates to help Medicare patients access the health care benefits. Information and application packets are available at 898-6716. • St. Elizabeth Community Hospital Auxiliary needs volunteers to assist in different areas of the hospital; front information desk, gift shop, and patient services.
