UNDERGRADUATE EFFORTS RECOGNIZED AT CONVENTION The Chapter Teams up with the Lund Scholarship Committee T he spring semester was great for the men of Phi Delta Theta. The chapter managed to take second place in the Little 5 bike race. We had five senior riders: Brad Lewis '18, Mitch Davis '18, Sam Showalter '18, Tom Huettner '18, and Joe Gallagher '18. Special congratulations to Mitch, Sam, Tom, and Joe, who were three-time riders for the Chapter. On the more formal athletic front, we had more than 10 Phis on the baseball team. While the team did not do quite as we hoped, they were part of a very young team and will come back stronger next year with all the valuable experience earned this year. Overall, more than 40 Phis participated in varsity athletics this past year among seven sports. The Chapter, along with the Lund Committee, hosted the annual Lund scholarship dinner at the Inn. Members were recognized for most involved in Phi Delta Theta, most dedicated athlete, and community involvement. The winners of the Lund scholarship this year were Kyle Kopchak '19, John Ward '19, and Carter Johnston '20. Each scholarship award was for $6,000. In June, the Chapter celebrated its 150th anniversary on DePauw's campus coinciding with Alumni Weekend. We had a great turnout from Phi Delt alumni spanning the last 50 years. It was fantastic to see so many of you and hear your stories about the Chapter and our brothers. This summer, Vice President Gino Catellani '19 and I went to San Antonio for the 88th biannual Phi Delta Theta General Convention. There were representatives from more than 180 national and Canadian chapters. There we participated in discussions about what direction the fraternity should take in the coming years and helped shape the plans. The Chapter also received two awards: excellence in recruitment and excellence in scholarship. We hope to see you this coming year as we continue the proud tradition of Phi Delt at DePauw! Yours in the Bond, Drew Morrison '19 Chapter President Congratulations to the class of 2018! Congratulations to our rising seniors at Convention: President Drew Morrison '19 and VP Gino Catellani '19.
