Chapter Spotlight: Humorology Directors Emily Izenman '16, Dina Schulman '16, and Samantha Wynn '16 H umorology was a great success this year. With the combined effort of Chi Omega, SDT, Phi Delt, and Psi U, our teams raised $45,000 for the Neighborhood House. Seven teams raised $125,000! Our individu- al team won best female lead, best a cappella, best male dancers, best male soloists, best costumes, and best cameo. We had a wonderful year full of friendships, laughs, tears, and absolutely so much fun. We can't wait for our four new directors to do it all over again! Abroad Spotlight: Nicole Forest '15 I am spending my semester at the University of Cape Town, which is con- sidered "e Harvard of Africa" and has been voted the most beautiful college campus in the world. Campus basically looks like Bascom Hill if Bascom Hill were at the foot of a mountain that happens to be a natural wonder of the world. I'm in awe every time I step foot on campus. I'm abroad as an exchange student, so I'm pretending to be South African for the semester by taking all regular classes (some of which I am the only international student in) and living in a house off-campus with other ex- change students. I have nine housemates and we are from three different continents. It's been so much fun to get to know everyone and hear about their different experiences around the world, as we come from an incredi- bly diverse array of backgrounds. We have Jewish girls from the East Coast, a surfer from Switzerland, a preacher from Detroit, and a Cape Town local. We have all become good friends, have barbecues in our backyard, go to the beach, and complete our homework together in the kitchen. Even though it's definitely different from living at 115, it's nice to always have someone to hang out with. South Africa is an amazing country filled with delicious food, stunning beach and mountain landscapes, and some of the most the most kind-heart- ed people I have ever met. I am so excited to keep exploring, eating, and making friends and I can't wait for my next adventure when I go on a trip to kayak through the Okavango Delta in Botswana, which is one of the most wildlife dense areas in the world, and then to visit Victoria Falls in Zimba- bwe, which is a natural wonder of the world. Academic Spotlight: Dani Mohr '17 I n the early '80s, Chi Omega was privileged to accept Laura Fraser '86 as a member of Nu Chapter. She made a memorable impact on the Chapter, and continued her involvement with the House Board aer graduation. For 25 years, 115 Langdon was graced with her presence and she was commit- ted to the sisters living in the Chapter House. Unfortunately, Laura's life was turned upside down when she was diagnosed with cancer. She was commit- ted to her involvement until she was too ill to return. Her sickness tragically ended her life at just 49 years old. Laura specialized in helping other sisters with financial stability, so the Laura Fraser Scholarship was created to con- tinue her legacy by providing a need-based scholarship to juniors and se- niors during the fall semester and seniors in the spring semester who have made a profound difference in the Nu Chapter. ere are so many amazing and wonderful sisters who are in desperate need of this scholarship in order to continue to be a part of and make a difference in Chi Omega. Currently, the goal is set at $10,000, and as of April 1, more than $1,000 has been raised. We are happy that Laura's memory can be honored in this amazing way by giving back to sisters in need. Donations are always accepted and encouraged. Please contact Serena Steinfeld '17 at chiomeganu.vicepresi- dent@gmail.com with questions and donations. Senior Spotlight: Sophie Siegel '14 T his year has been a year of lasts. My last game day, my last for- mal, my last Chapter, my last year of college. It has all been very bittersweet and I've spent a lot of time reflecting on my college experi- ence. When I think about college, Chi Omega is one of the first things that comes to mind. Nu Chapter has been one of the biggest constants during my college experience. It has given me a place to lead, a place to find support, and a place to grow into the best version of myself. It has given me my best friends, it and has introduced me to Big Sisters and various mentors. My best college memories are centered on late-night singalongs in the Chapter House, all the random trips to get pizza at any odd hour, and laughing so hard I cry. These college memories wouldn't have been possible without ΧΩ. I am so lucky to have found something so special in college, something that I know I will miss so dearly. The one thing that makes it all a little easier is knowing that the friends I've made here will be friends for life. Thank you, ΧΩ, for everything. Sister spotlights
