The top fi ve industries in Cumberland County employ 6,467. According to the Employment Security Commission there are a total of 113 industries in the Cumberland County area and they employ 8,124 employees with wages of $96,369,673.00. For distribu- tion and warehousing there are 168 facilities that employ 12,974 employees and pay wages of $45,049,000.00. ESC data includes retail, beverage distribution, transportation companies and small business throughout the community. Industry appreciation events are open to the public and begin with the Existing In- dustry Appreciation Luncheon on May 11 at Highland Country Club, where one lucky business/individual will take home the presti- gious Al Prewitt Award honoring their con- tribution to our community.
