While Secretary of State Elizabeth McCord (Téa Leoni) seeks a diplomatic solu - tion to a dooms- day cult in Bolivia, a congressman attempting to negotiate with its leader is taken hostage on "Madam Secretary," airing Sunday at 7 p.m. on CBS. NYPD homicide detective Laura Diamond (Debra Messing) uses her investigation of a murdered sailor to avoid the subject of her birthday with her colleagues and family on "The Mysteries of Laura," airing Wednesday at 7 p.m. on NBC.
