Epsilon Beta Chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma at Colorado State University Summer 2018 e Kappa H t KKG New Addition to be Completed by Fall Recruitment Give Back to Epsilon Beta T he Kappa house in Fort Collins is buzzing with activity. The new addition is well underway and by fall recruitment, the women will be moving in. Remember the excitement of returning to campus? Kappa continues to be a big part of 200 young women's experience at 729 S. Shields in Fort Collins. It's time to dig deep. Yes, I am asking each of you who may not have given to the building project to consider this: give what you can. If we work toward participation, the bottom line will move. We all have our individual financial situations, so any contribution is helpful toward this expansion. Keep in mind that a $2,500 pledge is only approximately $42 a month. If a five-year commitment does not fit, you may also submit a one-time gift. We hope you will please give to Epsilon Beta and participate in the building of KKG's future at CSU. To those 133 women who have already given, we thank you. Sincerely, thank you. As a result of your gifts received, we have raised $366,267 to date. The goal is $750,000, so as you do the math, you can see we need more of our 1,400 EB alumnae to help out! If you know a sister who has not given yet, encourage her to join you. To complete this project as it was envisioned, we need everyone to lend a hand. As you look back and recall your best KKG memories, the house is the backdrop those memories were built on. The house is where we ate, studied, laughed, and laid our heads down at night. It is where we had recruitment, got our pledge moms, and where our dearest friendships took root. Remember, all gifts directly impact Epsilon Beta's mission, and all gifts are 100% tax deductible through the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation (memo: Epsilon Beta Chapter). Loyally, Sue Skiffington Blumberg '74 skiffberg@yahoo.com P.S. Donating is simple! Submit your pledge or gift using the enclosed pledge card and return envelope. You can also donate online at www.kappa.org/idonate/EpsilonBetaEAG. We thank you in advance! "For me, Kappa instantly felt like home. I loved that there were really different women who all supported and appreciated each other," she says. Once joining Kappa and becoming a member of Epsilon Beta, Mindy was proud to wear her letters on campus. She loved seeing how inclusive her sisters were and the support they constantly gave each other. Her time in Epsilon Beta taught her two key things: leadership and friendship. "Being the House Manager and Chapter President gave me the opportunity to learn time management, organizational skills, and how to build and lead a strong team," she says. "Kappa gave me life skills to get along with diverse co-workers and colleagues. And most importantly, Kappa gave me my lifelong friends." Mindy's Epsilon Beta experience truly had a positive and powerful impact on her life. Because of this, Mindy wanted to ensure future members have the same learning and growth opportunities that she did by giving to the Honoring Our Past, Securing the Future of Epsilon Beta campaign. "Susan Knights Willmon '78 was my inspiration to support EB. She helped me understand the importance of giving," Mindy says. "I hope to see Kappa continue to develop leaders and significant contributors to CSU." In the process of giving back to Epsilon Beta, Mindy reflected on some of her favorite memories at the chapter house. As someone who grew up with two younger brothers, Mindy embraced the idea of sisterhood, and some of her favorite times were spent with her 60-plus sisters at the Epsilon Beta house. "To be able to sit around in our pajamas, eating popcorn, and talking about everything from what we were wearing to formal to the type of internship we were pursuing, was such a gift," Mindy recalls. "There was always someone to listen, bounce ideas off of, and be your biggest cheerleader." While Mindy lives in Colorado, she understands that not all of her sisters have remained as close to Epsilon Beta as they would have liked. She encourages them to reconnect and know that they are always welcome. "Kappa represents a friendship that never fades or goes away." Mindy lives in Morrison, Colo. She has two daughters and two granddaughters. In her free time she enjoys hiking, traveling, and mentoring young women in their careers. Mindy can be reached at mindymahoney@comcast.net.
