If you are a client of the Carol's Cupboard Food Bank, you are also eligible to come over once a week and shop in our newly opened facility. We have clothes, toiletries, shoes, infants and children's clothes, blankets and baby quilts and much, much more. We are here to give you a "hand up" if you are struggling fi - nancially to make ends meet. We recognize how diffi cult that can be for local residents especially dur- ing the summer when many of our businesses close and there isn't much work. When you hear the word FREE it is the honest truth. We are open because of fi nancial donations and donated items. All of our workers are volunteers and they are pretty awesome. What you receive at the Closet is Free. It has been a real delight to see the Closet become a success story. Carol Kelley had always hoped that someday such a place would be open to the needy in the com- munity. I am sure she is looking down on us and has that beautiful smile on her face when she was re- ally happy with something. She is dearly missed and we are proud to carry on her legacy. So many wonderful folks have come through the door and I am happy to get to know them and to be able to help them. For those of you in the community who might just be able to donate a few items, it would be greatly appreciated. Presently we always need cash do- nations and have a donation jar at the Closet. We are always in need of the following: Diapers and Baby Wipes, Adult Wipes, Wash Clothes, Gen- tly Used Towels and Blankets, Dish and Laundry soap, Fe- male Hygiene Supplies, White Men's Crew Socks, Kleenex, Toiletry Items. These can be dropped off at either the Closet or the Cupboard. We are located next to each other on Moon Mountain Road, Quartzsite. Thank you to those that have given so much love and support and we hope that you will help to keep this wonder- ful service open. If anyone needs to contact me, I can be reached at 360- 490-8175. Thank you. Maggie Ross, Volunteer NEED A LITTLE HELP? At Some Point, Everyone Needs A Little Help. In tough times it can be diffi cult to know where to turn. If you, or people you know, are looking for a bit of help, look to the Quartzsite Food Bank. Many in our community are decid- ing on which bills to pay each month. We all have electric, phone, rent or home payments, medical bills and others. So, do we cut back on our al- ready small grocery budget? This is where the Food Bank helps. We have a weekly distribution of food, clothes, and toiletries. There are monthly food boxes you can sign up for also. We are open Tuesday and Thurs- day from 8am to Noon. Bring your picture ID to sign up. If you do not have a ride, call the Town's transit to fi nd out if you qualify for a free bus ride at 928- 927-4333 ext 3. If you are, or know someone who is, homebound, we can help you also or if you are working and cannot get to the food bank you can sign up to have another person pick up your food. To help out at the food bank you can volunteer or donate to The Friends of the Quartzsite Food Bank: Drop off a donation at 40 N Moon Mountain or mail check to: FQFB, PO Box 4051, Quartzsite, AZ 85359. OR you can donate on- line at QuartzsiteFoodBank.com THANK YOU QUARTZSITE! I want to thank this wonderful community of Quartzsite. As most of you know, on May 1, 2018, a man in the Park we managed came and burnt down our home. Within minutes the fi re department and police depart- ment were here to take care of the situation. In the weeks that followed I have had so many people of this community come and help in any way they could. I want to thank the Fire Department and Police for responding so quickly, and for the fi reman who went into our burning home to retrieve my husband's teeth and phone. To the LDS Church Sisters who brought us food for over a week. For everyone who came and helped my husband with the clean up. The Salvation Army, the Red Cross and my son, Craig who brought down his 5th wheel for us to have a place to stay. The people who gave us money just to help out. To my dear friends the Praasts and Dyers who came within minutes to give us support and clothes. I feel so Blessed to live here knowing no matter what happens this giving community is always there for you. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!!! Beverly & George Cunningham
