The Greater Fayetteville Chamber would like to do just that by recognizing the volunteer efforts of our own Jack Cox. Every Wednesday, like clockwork, we can count on Jack to be here to make thank-you calls to our members, and check in to make sure their business is doing well. We recently had a pre-Memorial Day party in his honor and all I can say is take time to talk with our vets and hear their stories! We're pleased to let you know a little more about Jack, who was recently recognized at the Field of Honor dedication ceremony at the Airborne and Special Operations Museum. Col. (Ret) Cleatus "Jack" Cox is a retired Vietnam, Korean War, and WWII Veteran, His last assignment in the military was as a Garrison Commander at Fort Bragg. Jack Cox was born in Rushville, Illinois on August 16, 1927. Ft Bragg and the Army as a whole, have benefited immeasurably from his selfless and dedicated toil. Throughout his 50-year federal service career, Mr. Cox received many awards and decorations. He has the Legion of Merit with oak leaf cluster, Bronze Star Medal with V Device, Air Medal, Joint Services Commendation Medal and many more. He has been awarded the United States and Republic of Korea Master Parachutist Badges several service medals and unit citations. As a civil service employee, Mr. Cox distinguished himself. He's held a number of positions and maintained the same management style – the kind that goes beyond the requirements set forth in a personnel manual.
