SENIOR LIVING, In Style MRH FOUNDATION AND SUPPORTERS RENOVATE SENIOR LIVING COMPLEX Following a successful fundraising campaign orchestrated by the Marlette Regional Hospital Foundation and its Development Council volunteers, Marlette Regional Hospital is pleased to announce the completion of a renovation project at the Hannah D. Wolfe Retirement Residence in Marlette. The Hannah Wolfe residence has been a valuable resource for independent senior living since 1969 and continues to be an affordable retirement solution for area seniors today. The residence can accommodate 24 residents with private, studio apartments and features common kitchen, living and dining areas. The renovation created a more contemporary, inviting and homelike environment for residents and visitors. Primary features of the renovation included new carpeting and paint in the common living areas and hallways, drop ceiling and lighting, ceiling fans, artwork and décor, several remodeled private unit bathrooms, dining and living room furniture, and a flat-screen television. The family of Dianne Herpolsheimer provided an in-kind donation of nature artwork for both corridor hallways in memory of her mother, Irene Atkins, a former resident of Hannah Wolfe. Additionally, the sunroom at the back of the residence was refreshed with new paint, window treatments, seating and a library. Residence supervisor Shelli Parrott shares, "The residents and our staff are so appreciative of everything the community did to support this project. We are always hearing how nice everything looks and our residents are proud to have friends and family visit. The residence used to have poor lighting and didn't really provide comfortable spaces that made our residents want to socialize in the common areas, and this renovation has changed everything! We thank our Foundation volunteers for selecting this project as a worthy cause for fundraising and appreciate our community for their financial support." The Foundation raised nearly $82,000 in just one year's time thanks to the generous support of our communities. 10 | MRH HEARTBEAT FUNDRAISING PROGRESS FOR THE NEXT PROJECT: Renovation of MRH's Acute Care/Swing Bed Unit The MRH Foundation Development Council and its volunteers have selected the acute care/swing bed unit as the beneficiary for 2017-18 fundraising. The renovation will mirror its neighboring hallways with updates to the flooring, paint, artwork and furnishings. For more information or to find out how you can support this project, contact the MRH Foundation office at 989-635-4011. GOAL: $123,000 $87,901
