The brothers of Michigan Gamma maintain an average GPA of 3.11, which is higher than both the all-undergraduate men GPA and most other fraternities on campus. The chapter house is still located at 342 N. Harrison Road, but our brothers did redecorate one of our favorite rooms in the chapter house. Our visual arts committee spent weeks determining designs, and dedicated dozens of hours to have the project completed before St. Patrick's Day. MICHIGAN GAMMA GIVES BACK This year, the MDOT Adopt-a-Highway Program reached out to us. Back in 2012, Michigan Gamma made an agreement to adopt a portion of highway between Grand River and Moyer Road off of M-52. This bimonthly service event faded from our agenda as time went by. However, as a chapter we are always looking for different ways to build our community. We have decided to bring back the service opportunity as a means to further instill the ideal of communal development in our members. In addition to this event, we also held our annual charity lacrosse tournament and Puck Off in mid-April. BONDING OVER BOWLING The chapter has been looking for an event we could have on a weekly basis that was inexpensive, fun for the entire chapter, and manageable. Starting on Thursday, March 15, and every subsequent Thursday thereafter, the brothers of the Michigan Gamma met at City Limits Bowling Alley for free bowling. The event goes from 10 p.m.-12 a.m. every Thursday and has even inspired talks of forming an IM bowling team with our own customized fraternity jerseys. Attendance has been high, and the event will continue on a weekly basis throughout the entire semester. TURNING A HOUSE INTO A HOME Receiving a $2 million renovation to our chapter house was truly a blessing. Alumni visit the house every month and are speechless as soon as they walk through the front door. The now-largest fraternity house in the state of Michigan stands as an untouched, spotless palace on the corner of North Harrison. We loved the fact that the house is kept clean; however, it bothered us that the house was lacking a personal touch only we could give. As a result, we decided to add a few decorations of our own. THANK YOU, ALUMNI Without the generous support of our alumni, none of these amazing renovations would have been possible. You have provided Michigan Gamma with a brotherhood and chapter house to be proud of. We invite any alumni or family back to East Lansing to witness firsthand the pride of Michigan Gamma.
