carried the Torch through Quartzsite
The Quartzsite Police Department (QPD)hosted the Law Enforcement
Torch Run for Special Olympics on Wednesday, May 2nd, 2018. This was
QPD's fi fth offi cial run through the Town of Quartzsite. QPD offi cers were
still processing the shooting and arson scenes during the night, so com-
munity members stepped up in support.
Runners, walkers and bicyclers left the Fire Station around 7:15am.
The Torch was escorted south on Highway 95/Central Blvd., then east on
Main Street, ending at the Chevron Station on Riggles Road. The Torch
was escorted to the next leg where it was handed off to Maricopa County
Sheriff's Offi cers.
