3 Sigma Chapter of Delta gamma * NorthweSterN UNiverSity S igma chapter kicked off the year with an- other successful recruitment! We added 30 new members who hail from Illinois, New York, Florida, Virginia, California, Maryland, Connecticut, New Jersey, Minnesota, Michigan, Massachusetts, Texas, Wisconsin, and Istanbul, Turkey. Recruitment was a joyous week, as we not only welcomed home our newest sisters, but reconnected with several members who had been studying abroad. We earned a cumulative chapter GPA of 3.61 last fall, one of the highest of all chapters on campus! The College of Arts and Sciences awarded DGs Nina Holl '15, Madison Rinder '15, and Kamya Bijawat Weinberg '15, nam- ing each woman one of the top three juniors in their respective academic fields of social sci- ences, humanities, and natural sciences. Our sisters made up one-third of the nine juniors who were recipients of this honor. We are so proud! DELTA GRUB RAISES $2,000 FOR SERVICE FOR SIGHT Our chapter hosted Delta Grub in February, our annual philanthropy event where sell grilled cheese and tater tots to members of the North- western community. This year, in addition to serving food at our chapter house, we delivered all over campus, raising over $2,000 for Service for Sight in the process. We also invited visu- ally-impaired children to the Sigma house for touch-sensitive craft-making with us during our Tactile Easter event. FOUNDERS DAY AND SPRING INITIATION Sigma sisters were thrilled to celebrate Found- ers Day with the Eta Mu chapter of Lake Forest College on Saturday, April 14. We were equal- ly excited to welcome our newest members on Friday, April 20 at Initiation. Lastly, I want to express my heartfelt thanks to all of the alumnae who supported Sigma this year. It is an honor to carry on your legacy, and you inspire us with your compassion and dedi- cation to Delta Gamma.
