Nice weather and a crowd of more than 300 were on hand on April 18 for the groundbreaking for the first phase of the
North Carolina Civil War and Reconstruction History Center. Speakers said the center will tell the full story of the Civil War
and Reconstruction and through these educational efforts will promote unity and empathy in today's world.
