FarmHouse Almanac p . 3 F armHouse has been productive this semes- ter in bettering our chapter through aca- demics and involvement on campus and within the Greek community. We saw improve- ments through multiple facets of our chapter and progress as we strive to be Builders of Men. e fall 2017 semester was one of the most suc- cessful that the WSU chapter of FarmHouse has had, especially in our academics. Our chapter earned the fih highest fraternity GPA at Wash- ington State with a 3.192. Chet Broberg '15, Jack Wharton '18 and I all showed leadership by earning a 4.0 GPA for the semester. is work didn't go unrecognized, as FarmHouse Interna- tional Headquarters selected our chapter as the top chapter in intellectual development (for the second year in a row). In addition to our aca- demics, our chapter members participated in 221 hours of community service, 90 of which were done by Justin Moore '15, who coached football for Colfax High School. We also participated in a group community service project with Farm- House alumnus Karl Felgenhauer '60 at Fairfield Care in Fairfield, Washington. As we are now over halfway into the spring se- mester, we have seen progress in our involve- ment. We started out the semester with a cookies and cocoa exchange with Sigma Alpha and an ice skating social event at the Palouse Ice Rink. We also cohosted a baseball social event with Sig- ma Alpha Mu. In addition to these events, our newest executive team wanted to bring back the FarmHouse sweetheart competition (formerly known as Farmer's Daughter). By the end of the semester, we will have selected the winner of the competition, and the winner will be featured on our fall 2018 composite. One of the biggest outreach events that Farm- House participated in was a Be the Match Drive with the women of Sigma Alpha. During the two-day drive, we added 96 people to the Be the Match registry, which is run by the National Marrow Donor Program. We are also looking at making some updates to our chapter room and improv- ing lighting around the house. We look forward to how the rest of the semester will unfold and seek the best in our chosen lines of study, as well as in life.
