I believe the 2nd Amendment is one of the most important liberties of the Constitution. To keep our families and property safe, friendly professional certifi ed fi rearms instructors would be available for citizens who become concealed weapon certifi ed. These classes will be held throughout the year. 3. An interactive partnership with the community is a must have. As your Sheriff, I will organize and facilitate a monthly community event focused on strengthening relationships and trust between the Sheriff's Offi ce and the citizens. I will create a Citizen's Review Board and provide an open-door policy – I AM ALWAYS AVAILABLE TO SPEAK WITH YOU. Furthermore, it will be my priority to have a proactive approach and address concerns because we alone, without the help of the citizens, cannot solve every safety problem. 4. REAL-TIME COMMUNICATION – As your Sheriff I will restructure and redesign the agency's website and mobile application. This change will allow for rapid dissemination of vital information that could impact the safety of our citizens. We will work closely with all other agencies within and surrounding Rutherford County. Cooperation of all agencies is essential for effective, effi cient, and responsive law enforcement. 5. The current administration has failed to properly diversify the Sheriff's Offi ce. This leads to hostility and unequal opportunities. As your Sheriff I pledge to be equal and fair to ALL employees and citizens of Rutherford County. My record of equality speaks for itself and is uncontested. 6. Sound Fiscal Management of our fi nancial resources demonstrates our respect for the citizens, our current Sheriff has not done this. As your Sheriff I will be committed to sound fi scal responsibility ensuring accountability to the public and focusing resources for effi ciently achieving the goals of the Sheriff's Offi ce. I will also obtain available Federal Grants to assist funding the best training and equipment, so staff may achieve their peak performance.
