I've narrowed down the list to my favorite spring and summer fetes and included family friendly options as well as festivals for art, wine and beer lovers. For kids of all ages Castles & Kites Pack your flips flops, a sand bucket and your favorite kite and head to the Sonoma coast this May for Castles & Kites at Doran Regional Park in Bodega Bay. Build sandcastles, fly your kite in ocean breezes and play on Doran's long, sandy beach. Watch professional sand sculptors create their masterpieces or get a group together and build your own sand creation. Regional parks offers free sand tools for the day. Held in the charming town of Sebastopol each August, the Gravenstein Apple Fair offers wholesome — and delicious — fun for the entire family. This year's theme is Renewal and Restoration of Habitat, after last fall's fires. Enjoy live music, shop for local arts and crafts, ride in a horse drawn plow wagon and find your way through the Hay Maze. Don't forget your appetite! Gourmet foods, fine wines and beers will be on hand, as well as several eating contests in- cluding the no-hands Caramel Apple Eating Contest. Bakers, bring your "A" game to the Apple Pie Baking Contest.
