This milestone is cause for refl ection on our incredible growth and history. In fact, when Alpha Gamma Rho came to the University of Florida, there weren't many other existing agricultural organizations in the state. We predate some of the respected, older organizations we all know: • Alpha Gamma Chapter-1925 • Florida FFA Association-1929 • Florida Cattlemen's Association-1934 • Florida Farm Bureau-1941 • Florida Fruit and Vegetable Association-1943 When Bill Musselwhite '24 was Noble Ruler, the chapter had 21 brothers, Florida had a population of 2 million people, and the Gator football team went 8-2 under a new head coach (losing to Georgia Tech and an undefeated Alabama). Some things have certainly changed since then. ALPHA GAMMA TODAY Today, the chapter has 70 collegiate brothers and Juan Barco Jr. '18 became initiated brother #1759 this semester. Florida's population is approaching 21 million, and we await the upcoming football season under a new head coach. NINE DECADES OF ΑΓΡ Despite the changes occurring on campus, in the state, and in the agricultural industry, Alpha Gamma Rho at the University of Florida has been making better men for more than nine decades. Few organizations at UF or even in Florida agriculture can claim the same enduring legacy. The continued growth we are experiencing requires us to examine our communications efforts. RECONNECTING ALUMNI For 2018, this newsletter is being launched to help alumni stay connected to each other. The content will focus on alumni news, while the Crescent will continue to update you on the collegiate chapter's activities. Brother Ray Hodge '95 will also continue to send e-news updates. If you're not receiving the e-news updates, sign up by visiting UPDATE YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION By now, you should have received a biographical update form in the mail. Please fi ll it out and return it to ensure we have your most current contact information. If you did not receive one, please email your contact information to Ray Hodge at Please share with us any news you have or other alumni notable activities. We'd love to hear about it. SHAPING THE FUTURE As has been the case throughout our history, alumni involvement will shape the future of the chapter. Together, we can ensure Alpha Gamma endures for many more generations to come.
