It was chilly the day Matthew
Wonderly and I went to take
photos at the King's Grant Golf
and Country Club in north
Fayetteville. It's been chilly
through much of early 2018.
But I never turn down a chance
to drive a golf cart – not that I
get many since I don't play golf.
I did hit a hole-in-one at a par
3 pitch-and-putt when I was
about 11. Aer everyone hit, we
looked for my ball and what do
you know? It was in the cup. is
wasn't the harbinger of a great
golfing career but, as evidenced in
prior and later play on the same
course as well as in many rounds
of miniature golf, pure luck.
I am, however, OK in a golf cart.
Back to King's Grant: You'll want
to read about the friends who are
trying to bring the golf course
back to its glory days. Also, check
out our stories about a cool home
renovation in Haymount, open-
mic poetry events all around
town, the latest on Linear Park,
the food and fun that will be at
the Dogwood Festival later this
month, Bill McFadyen's latest –
and everything else. Are you in
Seen @ the Scene?
Meanwhile, if you see me in a golf
cart? Fore! (Warned.) I'm coming
through.
