BACK BAY BETA Beta Upsilon Chapter of Beta Theta Pi at The Massachusetts Institute of Technology SPRING 2018 P lans are almost finalized for our 105th reunion in Boston on April 27-29. I hope you are planning to join us. More information and reg- istration are available at alumic.mit.edu/BTP105 and in the article to the right. On that website you can also find a list of people who have already registered. And, special thanks to Ken Bryan '88, Ken Shine '85, and John O'Leary '84 for leading their effort in organizing the 105th! As the years pass, I have really come to treasure my time at 119 and 120 Bay State Road. A long-lost pledge brother of mine happened to reach out to re- connect recently. He's coming to the 105th, and his attendance spurred me to get all 14 members of our pledge class from the fall of 1979 to attend, and I'm happy to say, all 14 have made plans to come! What a unique opportu- nity to reconnect and relive all the great times we had. As you know, when you get together with your Beta brothers, the years melt away and we are as close as we were back in school, even if we've been out of touch for years. I've been lucky to be in touch with so many of you over the years. And, I've attended some less formal Beta gatherings, including Euchre tournaments in New Orleans and Austin and several dinners in Boston and New York. Each time, everyone says, "We have to do this more oen." Coming to the 105th in Boston in April is your chance to actually "do this more oen." I hope to see you there! I also hope you'll reach out to everyone you'd hope to see at the 105th to get them to come. e more the merrier, for all of us. People come to these events to see their contemporaries, and the more of us who attend, the more others will follow. I also hope you'll consider volunteering to help us support our Chapter. Whether you contribute to our annual fund, which so many of you do, or you can spare some time to help with communications, facilities manage- ment, finance, or mentoring our active members, you are making a differ- ence in the lives of young Beta men at MIT. Please contact me to let me know if you'd like to help. Hope to see you in April!
