2 ALPHA DELTA HILITES Join Our Campaign Today! T o much anticipation and excitement, we kicked off the largest capital campaign in the history of the Alpha Delta Chapter of Gamma Phi Beta. With the goal of merging our storied 98-year history with the evolving needs of collegians, we have designed a perfect marriage of past, present, and future. We need you. With over 3,000 Alpha Delta alumnae scattered throughout the world, we are attempting to get in touch with as many of you as possible. We are eager to share details of our campaign and the next- generation house at 808 Richmond. We have established many giving opportunities to support our chapter, including the ability to name designated rooms within the house, such as the TV room, ugly room, blue mist, and the new chapter and dining room. We are planning campaign events in Columbia, Kansas City, and St. Louis. We look forward to connecting with all of you! Please follow us on Facebook at Gamma Phi Beta Alpha Delta Alumnae to keep up to date on our progress and for event information. The memories she formed with her sisters while living in the chapter house are some of her fondest. "One of my favorite memories is when we used to pile in the Pine Room and watch The Cosby Show until we were called down to dinner," she says. "It was a rare time where so many of us were able to hang out during our busy lives." While Alpha Delta is preparing for a newly renovated chapter house on campus, Candy has had the privilege of serving on the design team. The design team is responsible for the interior design aspects of the chapter house and consists of several alumnae who Candy proudly calls her sisters. "To have studied interior design while living in 808 Richmond and now redesigning the house is historical and overwhelming," she says. "Just walking through the front door always brings back so many amazing memories. It has been an incredible experience." Candy hopes the renovated chapter house will continue to nurture and inspire women in many ways, from success in life and in their careers, to understanding the importance of philanthropy, to preserving friendships they've created. The renovation is set to add more study areas for the members as well as a larger dining area. A meal plan is being established for members who live out of the house to encourage them to visit the chapter and be able to spend more time with their sisters. "We are striving to maintain the ambiance of the existing house and the charm of the traditional architecture, while updating the amenities and the image to reflect the young women of today," Candy says. "The house renovation is sure to capture the enthusiasm and interests of the new members, existing members, and alumnae." She feels confident that the renovated house will continue to serve as a home and a place of opportunity for many aspiring young ladies. Candy and her husband, Randy, live in Saint Charles, Mo., Together, they have two children, Nick (19) and Jenna (16). She teaches elementary art education and can be reached at canrang@sbcglobal.net.
