B uilding a regional agricultural facility has been discussed for at least 30 years in Wayne County. On March 1, the long- sought dream comes to fruition. The most recent efforts that led to that discussion being turned into a reality can be traced back to the early 2000s. In the fall of 2004, Wayne County received a $200,000 planning grant from the state legislature for the project. The study called for an approximately 40,000- square-foot building with tentative plans to locate the building near the 2,000 acres of Cherry Research Farm.
