Being a member of the Bella Vista Business Association helps him do just that. "Bella Vista is our connection to our stake holders across the state line," he said. "As a community college we identify what area employers need, as far as training programs and skill sets, for their employees. at's number one… to meet with area employers and nd out what they need and provide training and education to area community members and to meet their needs." Aaron, who is director for Crowder College's McDonald County campus, said membership in the BVBA is the kind of community connection he needs to make that happen. "It's good to make those connections to businesses in Bella Vista," he explained. "It great word-of-mouth messaging that we are here and are active in the community. People are more likely to relay that to folks they meet. It's great to get out and be a part of the community, because really, we are close to Bella Vista in McDonald County. We just want to provide educational opportunities for the community at large." Plus, he added: "It's great advertising." Born in Newton County and a graduate of Missouri Southern State University, Aaron also holds a Master's Degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. When you talk to him about his role at Crowder College, the passion for his job comes through. "Our goal is to be able to provide economic opportunities and career opportunities for folks on both sides of the state line," he explained. "McDonald County has a lot of ties to Northwest Arkansas. e Federal Census Bureau considers McDonald County a part of the Northwest Arkansas Metropolitan Area. We are located within a quarter mile of the state line. Right now our student population is roughly 60/40. Sixty percent Missouri residents and 40 percent from Arkansas. "I know a lot of people who live in McDonald County and commute to work in Northwest Arkansas," he said. "Even though there is that arbitrary state line there, we have a lot of overlap. It's our goal to provide opportunity to everyone no matter where they come from."
