That’s right, exercise your Constitutional right to vote. It’s probably the most important single thing you will do this year and early voting makes it easy. No more excuses. Believe it or not, even in the 21st century, there are countries where people are still fighting and dying for this precious freedom. And to think, Americans all too often take it for granted. So, from local county commissioner races to state and national Congressional seats, it is all relevant and exceptionally important. We are a nation in transition. Local and national unemployment is hovering around 10 percent. Businesses are failing at record rates. Banks continue to play it safe. The U.S. Treasury is printing money 24/7 just trying to keep up on the debt service America owes to foreign countries and inflation is looming at our door step. Wow! My head is spinning just writing about it. Billions and trillions of dollars are allocated to current and future debt. These numbers are so outrageous and excessive even the bureaucrats have no comprehension of the effects this will have on future generations. Feeling a little overwhelmed? No doubt. Remedy: Go vote. Express yourself. Your candidates may or may not win but, I assure you, you will feel better. Another Helpful Hint: Vote for someone who campaigns for “People before Politics.” Regardless of affiliation, these public servants will “serve the public.” Thank you for reading Up & Coming Weekly. Enjoy the Dogwood Festival this weekend and I’ll see you at the polls. BILL BOWMAN, Publisher COMMENTS? Bill@upandcomingweekly.com.
