“A Doctor’s Confession to the city of Fayetteville...” And, why despite all, I still do what I do... Dear Friend, Confessions are tough. Real tough. But, sometimes a confession can set the record straight, and I want to give credit where credit is due. Before I talk about my confession, though, let me say a few other things first. Let me start by explaining the photo in this letter. You know, when I meet people in town they usually say, “Oh, yeah, I know you, you’re Dr. Karen. I’ve seen your ad with that picture of you and the cute little children.” Well, I’m the gal in the middle. Twenty years ago something happened to me that changed my life forever. Back then I was a caterer in the San Francisco Bay Area, but I developed a painful hand condition known as “carpal tunnel syndrome.” In my case it came on suddenly. The pain in my hands was so intense that I couldn’t stir a sauce, carry a tray, and sometimes I couldn’t even put on my bow tie. I was afraid that I’d lose my business if the disability continued. After considering surgery (that was the only option, according to the surgeon) I decided against it. But there’s more. A friend of mine convinced me to give a chiropractor a try. The chiropractor did an exam, took some films, and then “adjusted” my spine. The adjustment didn’t hurt, it actually felt good. I got relief, and I could use my hands again. It worked so well that I went to Chiropractic school myself. Now for Tate, who is the boy in the photo. He had a traumatic birth and was plagued with a never-ending cycle of ear infections and colds and was always constipated. Since I have been adjusting him, he hasn’t suffered like he had; he’s had no colds, and is now “regular”. His parents are very excited because he didn’t require surgery to put tubes in his ears. His little sister, Hadley has been coming to see me since she was 2 weeks old, and she’s never had even a single ear infection! It’s strange how life is, because now people come to see me with their carpal tunnel syndrome problems. Also they come to me with their headaches, migraines, chronic pain, neck pain, shoulder/arm pain, whiplash from car accidents, backaches, ear infections, asthma, allergies, numbness in limbs, athletic injuries, just to name a few. We Listen... We Care... We Get Results!!! Forty-five million Americans no Here’s what some of my patients had to say: “I am so amazed how effective the treatments were in addressing my pain. My pain is gone and I have my life back.” (Tina R., Fayetteville, NC) “I no longer have pain in my right hip. I no longer have sinus headaches, which plagued me for 20 years. My body feels so much better and I have more energy.” (Marie P., Fayetteville, NC) “I always had problems with my back and knees from jumping out of airplanes while serving in the US Army. I was taking a lot of pills for my pain. DR. KAREN GAVE ME A NEW FEELING FOR LIFE.” (Mo., Fayetteville, NC) “I experienced shoulder, neck, lower back and menstrual pain for over 12 years. I had immediate relief after my first adjustment and I feel less stress too!” (Linda N., Fayetteville, NC) Several times a day patients thank me for helping with their health problems. But I can’t really take the credit. My confession is that I’ve never healed anyone of anything. What I do is perform a specific spinal adjustment to remove nerve pressure, and the body responds by healing itself. We get tremendous results. It’s as simple as that! Being a chiropractor is tough, because there’s a host of so-called experts out there. They tell people a lot of things that are just plain ridiculous about my profession. But the studies speak for themselves, like the Virginia study that showed that 99% of patients who saw a chiropractor were satisfied with their results. That’s just incredible! longer have health insurance, and those who do have found that their benefits are reduced. That’s where chiropractic comes in. Many people find that they actually save money on their health care expenses by seeing a chiropractor. Another way to save… studies show that chiropractic can double your immune capacity, naturally and without drugs. The immune system fights colds, flu, and other sicknesses. So, you may not be running off to the doctor as much. This is especially important if you are self- employed. And, an entire week of care in my office may cost what you could pay for one visit elsewhere. You benefit from Chiropractic care. Look, it shouldn’t cost you an arm and a leg to correct your health. You are going to write a check to someone for your health care expenses, you may as well write one for a lesser amount for chiropractic. Chiropractic care is very affordable and you’ll be happy to know that I have affordable family plans. Further care is very important to consider when making your choice of doctor. High costs can add up very quickly. Great care at a great fee… You’ll get great Chiropractic care at a great fee.
