Matthews & Carter Natasha Matthews and Josh Carter June 21, 2008 It could be said that a little divine intervention helped bring Natasha and Josh together. Her brother is a music pastor in Hagerstown, Md., Josh’s hometown. Josh is now a youth pastor in Wilson. And when it came time to propose, he popped the ques- tion in church. Natasha thought she was there to prepare for her nephew’s dedication. But Josh had spent the past three months preparing a video of their lives together and apart. They showed the video to friends and fam- ily at their wedding ceremony, held at Praise Fellowship of God in down- town Fayetteville with a reception fol- lowing at the Gardens of Fox Hollow. But Virginia and Christian decided their guests might not feel the same way. The couple married June 26 at Snyder Memorial Baptist Church in Fayetteville. Two days later, Virginia and Christian held a smaller sunrise ceremony for immediate family at Wrightsville Beach. A sun- rise service symbolizes a new beginning, Virginia says. For years, Virginia and Christian were colleagues and friends before a romance blossomed. She teaches history at Terry Sanford High School. He teaches English.
